World number one Carlos Alcaraz fought through a tough start to overcome American Taylor Fritz 6-7(2), 7-5, 6-3 in a thrilling round-robin match at the 2025 ATP Finals in Turin.
Fritz won the first set in a dominant tiebreak and pushed Alcaraz hard in the second, but the Spaniard held firm and broke for 4-2 in the decider before serving out to love in two hours and 48 minutes.
With this victory, Alcaraz moves to 2-0 in his group and sits just one win away from securing the year-end No. 1 ranking — should he defeat Lorenzo Musetti or win in the semifinals.
