Since Big Brother began in the year 2000, the CBS reality show has been plagued by several controversies. During the latest season of the longstanding TV show, Big Brother 28’s Kamu Kirk has been at the center of scandals for several reasons, including remarks he made in the house and the fan theory he broke a major rule. Now, the houseguest is yet again garnering negative attention for a George Floyd-related social media post he uploaded months before entering the house.
Controversial Past Videos of Big Brother 28’s Kamu Kirk Suddenly Surface
Roughly three weeks into the new season of Big Brother, the show’s fans are still discovering more about the backgrounds of its houseguests. In the case of Kamu Kirk, what people are learning is causing a lot of controversy as past videos of him have surfaced on social media and left him under fire without him even knowing it.
As TMZ reported, Kirk published a series of videos in December 2025 in which he can be seen reacting to a distressed man who was being arrested. During the scene, which seemed to be taking place outside the houseguest’s home, the person being detained appeared to be alleging that he was being mistreated by police. As the footage continues, the person being arrested can be heard pleading for “help,” and claiming he is “dying.”
During the footage that Kirk posted on social media, he can be seen laughing at and commenting on the situation, even bringing up George Floyd at one point. “I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe. Bro thinks he’s George Floyd.”
How Big Brother Fans Are Reacting
In the aftermath of Big Brother fans learning about Kamu Kirk’s controversial series of videos reacting to the man’s arrest, the backlash against him from many observers has been swift. For example, one X user whose profile name has been changed to BB28 called the houseguest “garbage” in reaction. “Racist as hell but also just a disgusting lack of empathy for another human being in distress. Kamu Kirk is garbage. #bb28”
Similarly, TMZ’s article on the controversy quoted several social media responses that were equally upset by the content of the videos. One user the outlet quoted wrote, “Everything I see from this man gets more and more DISGUSTING!!!” Another responded to the videos by posting, “He’s so nasty,” while a third wrote, “ugh, this is legitimately sickening.”
Arguably the most notable responses came from a Big Brother fan who also happens to be a former houseguest, Frankie Grande. In one post, Grande called for Kirk to be evicted from the house, and argued the live eviction should be skipped to get him out sooner. “Evict Kamu. Skip tonight’s live eviction.” Just before calling for him to be ousted, he labeled Kirk a “monster” in a previous post. “You guys. Enough. How is this monster still in the house. WHAT THE F**K?!”
Additionally, when a different fan questioned Grande’s contention that Kirk should be removed for his behavior outside of the house, he explained why he thought that was warranted in this case. “If his outside views make it unsafe for certain members in the house to interact with him, and if his outside views are causing him to target people beyond gameplay, he should be removed.”
As of the time of this writing, there is no indication that Big Brother’s producers will remove Kirk from the house over this still growing controversy.
